ALDnet, Inc. is a privately held company located in Henderson, Nevada. It owns and operates several web properties as well as providing off-line consulting services. About the ALDnet name...

Always looking for a better way of doing things, the founder Ed Harrison saw that making Intralata phone calls in the early 90's was more expensive than making state-to-state calls. So, he set out on a plan to place a small switch in his his house in one territory, and another switch in a relatives house in another area. The thought was to purchase a dedicated circuit to connect the two and charge subscribers a small flat-rate to connect calls from one area to the next.

Although the idea never got of the ground due to regulatory concerns, the name of ALDnet (alternative long distance network) was born.

Originally ALDnet Communications, the name was changed to ALDnet Media Group as he started working on the internet in the late 90s. ALDnet Media Group successfully grew and sold several online companies until the name was eventually changed to ALDnet, Inc.

One of those properties was Wholesale411.com, which was later sold in 2005 to a company that was going public. Wholesale411 was a niche pay-per-click (PPC) search engine whereas users searched for wholesale products, and its advertisers were ranked by their bid amount. It was amazing to see revenues of over $150K month based on pennies per click.

After the sale of W411 and a brief hand-off period, the company purchased the domain Blogster.com for $100,000 and began to build a blogging platform there. The site was sold the following year.

Another simultaneous project was Adimpact.com. The original code was purchased from a programmer in Sweden for a fair amount of money. The company did a compete overhaul on the code and graphics and it remains a pretty decent project
